As part of Science week Room 15 has been conducting a science experiment every day. Here are some photos of what we've been up to.

What causes the orange glow in the sky during the sun set?
Using a beaker of water with a few drops of milk added we demonstrated the effects of "Rayleigh Scattering" whereby blue light is dispersed in many directions by tiny particles in the atmosphere (the milk in the water) leaving orange/red light to illuminate the sky.
Waiting in anticipation for the rocket to launch.
Th rocket in all its shiny red glory.
Misfire.
Although the rocket was a bit disappointing (reaching about 10 meters into the air, a far cry from the 50 meters promised on the box) we learned a valuable lesson about trail and error and discussed what we could do to make it work better next time.
Using invisible ink (lemon juice) to write to each other. We later used an iron to reveal the secret messages.
The coke fountain.
Loaded with Mentos and ready to go.
